CAVE premieres "You Belong Here" at BrandStorytelling 2024 in Park City

Park City, Utah, January 19, 2024. CAVE premiered "You Belong Here," a twenty-minute documentary made with PepsiCo, at BrandStorytelling 2024, a sanctioned event of the Sundance Film Festival.

The film screened during the four-day gathering, held January 17 to 20, which brought together more than 350 brand representatives, agencies, content studios, and platforms for screenings, panels, and Q&As alongside the opening days of Sundance.

"You Belong Here" follows Dustin Maynard, a supply-chain planning associate at PepsiCo's Gatorade facility in Indiana. Dustin is Deaf, and before PepsiCo hired him in 2017, he had applied to 450 jobs. "Most people, when they see the word 'deaf,' they don't bother to respond," he told PepsiCo. A manager at the plant read his application history differently: not as a record of rejection, but as proof of tenacity.

The film follows Dustin through strategy meetings, workshops, the production floor, and life at home with his family. What began as a brief about disability self-identification became a portrait of how a workplace changes when it recognizes talent first and works out the logistics second. Through Dustin's advocacy, the plant went on to hire a second Deaf associate, then a third. By then, the awareness and accommodations had become part of how the team simply operated.

The film is part of PepsiCo's "You Belong Here" disability awareness campaign, which shares the journeys of associates with different abilities across the company.

Director Jero Villar Uribe joined a post-screening panel discussion, and was in Park City alongside founder and executive creative director Gabe Munitz-Alessio and head of post-production Lizzie Minges.
